Introduction to Mokuhanga Part II
Date: Saturday, June 1
Time: 10am – 4pm
Registration Deadline: May 27
Mokuhanga is a traditional form of Japanese printmaking. This second class is designed to reinforce printmaking skills, work on the craft, and have a chance to create an image with more blocks. Mokuhanga artists always work at their craft, experimenting, growing, and sometimes failing. Mokuhanga is a process that does not require a press and is non-toxic.
Cindi received an MFA in Printmaking at Kendall School of Art and Design and a fellowship scholarship. Ford has won numerous local, national, and international awards. Her work has been in galleries in Michigan, Indiana, Florida, New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, North Dakota, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Japan, and South Korea. Cindi was an adjunct professor in printmaking at Kendall School of Art and Design. In 2017, she moved to her cottage on Torch Lake Bayou to pursue a full-time career in creating prints.
