Creativity Q+A Video with Joan Richmond

Traverse City artist Joan Richmond responded to the COVID shutdown in her Northern Michigan town by going to work in her studio. She created 60 collages, a selection of these abstract, color-and-line composition are exhibited at the Glen Arbor Arts Center. Paper + Scissors + Glue = New Collages, an exhibition of 12 new works, is on display in the GAAC Lobby Gallery January 15 – April 22, 2021. Joan Richmond discusses how she creates a collage, what materials and tools she uses in a short video interview with GAAC Gallery Manager Sarah Bearup-Neal.

Free Membership For Healthcare Workers & Therapists

To express appreciation for the frontline heroes and therapists caring for us all during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Glen Arbor Arts Center will be giving free, one-year individual memberships to healthcare workers. The offer is now available and valid through the end of the year.

The GAAC believes in the restorative power of art and that creativity can lift our spirits and support our well-being. COVID-19 has had an impact upon all of us, but particularly the healthcare workers and therapists who have been on the front lines caring for our entire community.
