You’ll begin by learning how to carve and print linocut designs, experimenting with textures, transfer drawing methods, and stencils. Then, the fun continues as you cut, layer, and arrange your prints into bold, striking compositions on 5×7 papers. Whether you enjoy working abstractly, realistically, or with a mix of styles, you’ll receive guidance to create strong compositions and polished craftsmanship. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with three unique 5×7 postcard-sized creations!

Instructor
Cindi received her BA in Art from Michigan State University. She attended printmaking classes at Grand Valley State University, where her passion for prints began. In 2006 she received her MFA from Kendall School of Art and Design. Cindi was awarded a fellowship scholarship. She served as an adjunct professor at Kendall for numerous years. Cindi has won multiple awards. In 2023 she won second prize in the 14th Biennial International Miniature Competition at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. She also won an award from the curator of prints and drawings at the Whitney Museum of Art. Cindi has shown her work in many states, Japan, and South Korea. She continues to create and spread her passion to students.
