2025 Members Create Prospectus and Registration

An annual tradition returns! The GAAC Members Create exhibition is a showcase of members’ talent. The exhibition will be installed in the GAAC gallery; and it will also be viewable on the GAAC website. Members Create is open to current GAAC members.

Online Registration Begins

Online registration begins February 3, 2025. Registration is taken on a first-come/first-served basis. The work of up to 60 GAAC members will be exhibited. You may only register ONLINE via the GAAC website.

Online Registration Ends

Online registration closes when all the exhibition spaces have been filled; or until Wednesday, April 23 at 2 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Submission Criteria

You may submit one piece of art, 2D or 3D.
An entry may be comprised of multiple units [e.g. a diptych]; but may not exceed the maximum dimensions or weights described below. If offered for sale, a single entry comprised of multiple units must be sold for one price. The individual units may not be sold separately.
Work submitted must be one-of-a-kind, innovative, and original in design.
Images generated by artificial intelligence cannot be considered. The use of generative artificial intelligence, such as generative fill, to manipulate photos is also disallowed. All parts of the image must have been photographed by the artist who holds the copyright to the work submitted.
Applicants must attach a high-quality digital image of their entry on the on-line application. See the on-line application for file size instructions.
2D work [e.g. painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, collage, fiber, mixed media] should not exceed 28” in total width, or 65” in total height/length.
Work intended to be exhibited on the gallery walls must be gallery-ready to hang when it is delivered.
For hanging: Use gallery wire. Entries with saw tooth hanging hardware will not be accepted.
No wet paintings, or warped canvases will be accepted.
2D work is not required to be framed [e.g. work executed on gallery-wrapped canvases or mounted on cradled wood panels]; but this work is required to be gallery-ready to hang [see above hanging requirements]. If left unframed, the work’s edges must be tidy and finished.
3D work must be freestanding and easily moved by one person. It should not exceed 28” in total width, or 65” in total height. Weight should not exceed 35 pounds. 3D work intended to hang on the gallery walls should not exceed 10 pounds.
Please place an identifying tag on your entry with your name, telephone number, email address, and the work’s title.

Exhibition Calendar

Artwork drop-off dates [delivered by hand]: Friday, May 30, 9 am – 2 pm; and Saturday, May 31, 9 am – noon.
Shipped artwork arrival deadline: Shipped work must arrive at the GAAC between Friday, May 24 and Thursday, May 29. Exhibitors are responsible for supplying a pre-paid return shipping mailing label.

Artist’s Statement

Exhibitors are required to submit a short [100 words max.] artist’s statement that provides viewers with some context for looking at the artwork you will exhibit. The artist’s statement you provide on your Members Create application will be used in the exhibition.

Registration Fee

The registration fee is $25.

Sales

Artwork may be for sale. Artists set the price. The GAAC retains 40% of sales; artists receive 60%.

Entry Procedure
• Please read and accept this document to confirm your understanding of the terms, and to confirm your participation in this exhibition.
• Work must be delivered to the Glen Arbor Arts Center by the drop-off dates designated in the prospectus. All work must have identification [ artist’s name, phone number, email ] on the back of 2-D work; or affixed to 3-D work.

Sales
• The Glen Arbor Arts Center receives 40% of the retail price established by the artist, and the artist receives 60%. The Glen Arbor Arts Center will collect 6% sales tax on every sale.

Exhibitor Agrees:
• The Glen Arbor Arts Center will not be responsible for any pieces delivered in damaged condition.
• The art submitted for exhibition will remain the property of the artist until sold.
• It is agreed that due care will be taken of each piece of art submitted. However, it is also agreed that the GAAC, and/or its representatives, will not be held liable for situations over which they have no control.
• The artwork will remain in the gallery for the duration of the show — the artist agrees to remove the artwork by the date indicated in the prospectus. The GAAC is not responsible for art left on our site past the pick-up due date and may take possession of the work after 30 days.
• The GAAC is unable to insure works at this time.
Images generated by artificial intelligence cannot be considered.

The Exhibitions Committee and the GAAC staff reserve the right to the final selection of works. Unaccepted work will be held until pick-up unless other arrangements are made by the GAAC.

You are also releasing photographic rights to the GAAC for the purposes of promoting the exhibit and posting on the GAAC website and social media outlets.
