AIR Presentation: Artist Liz Barick Fall

Date: Thursday, September 4, 2025
Time: 10 am
Location: Glen Arbor Arts Center

Ann Arbor artist Liz Barick Fall’s practice focuses on mixed media assemblage, creating installations that incorporate encaustic photos with vintage materials, found objects and natural materials. But during her Glen Arbor Arts Center residency her “biggest goal is to explore mediums and methods that I don’t already employ.” Barick Fall will talk about her exploratory residency during a presentation on September 4, 10 am. The program is open to the public at no charge.

“With only two weeks and limited studio equipment, I would explore simplified processes, by bringing limited, easily portable mediums and supplies,” Barick Fall said.” I would use these in a less deliberate, more spontaneous way than I usually do, to catalog/document daily reflections and impressions of the area in and around Glen Arbor, while taking photographs and collecting materials to use in future work.”

The GAAC has been hosting visiting artmakers as part of its residency program since the 1990s.
