Learning in the Arts Mentorship Program (LAMP)

The Learning in the Arts Mentorship Program (LAMP) is an immersive, hands-on experience for individuals ages 16 to 22 interested in arts education, arts administration, and creative leadership. LAMP offers a comprehensive introduction to careers in the arts beyond being a studio artist, fostering professional growth and leadership skills while supporting youth summer classes.

Program Benefits

LAMP participants engage in a hands-on learning experience within a supportive and professional arts environment, connecting with local artists, gallery owners, arts educators, and nonprofit leaders. Through this immersive opportunity, participants gain real-world experience and receive a $500 stipend upon successful completion of the program.

Program Structure

Program Duration: June – August
Total Commitment: 41 hours

Orientation
Tuesday, June 17, 2025 | ⏰ 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Lunch provided)

Summer Camp Mentorship
Participants assist teaching artists during a two-week summer camp session on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Scheduling is based on availability and program needs.

Enrichment Days
Wednesday, June 25 & Wednesday, July 16, 2025 | ⏰ 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Bring your own lunch)

Independent Work
5 hours of assignments completed on your own time
Makeup opportunities available with specific requirements to fulfill program goals

Visits to area arts and cultural organizations for behind-the-scenes insights into the broader arts ecosystem.
Project collaboration that connects art and creativity with the local community, fostering creative outreach and real-world impact.
