Description

This year’s series features a fresh lineup of artists for 2026, giving returning and new students alike the opportunity to explore new perspectives. Virtually all of art history’s great painters started with still life painting before moving to their own form of art. This is a class to not only learn the techniques of still life painting but also learn about the methods of history’s great still life painters. Each class will start with a brief illustrated presentation, beginning with The History of Still Life Painting and subsequently covering artists such as Cézanne, Manet, Picasso and Hockney.

Following the presentations, students will seek to incorporate ideas learned into their own paintings. The instructor will give frequent demonstrations and provide close personal attention to each student. This is a series of individual classes. Join us for one session or all four.
