Clay Cubs Summer Camp Session 5 2026

Description

The Clay Cubs camp immerses young artists in various clay hand-building techniques while discovering how exciting creating in a real ceramic studio can be. It’s the perfect fit for the camper who likes to get messy and investigate the ceramic medium in depth. All projects are glazed and kiln-fired and will be ready for pickup in 2–3 weeks. The instructor can also make arrangements for shipping projects for a shipping fee. Join us for one session or all summer!

Important: Clay Cubs Camp is Designed for Ages 7–12
Our age range is intentional and helps ensure students are developmentally ready to participate fully, engage with peers, and have a positive experience. Enrolling students outside the listed age range can impact their experience, the instructor’s ability to support the group, and the experience of other campers. Thank you for helping us create a positive and successful camp experience for all students.

NOTE: Finished pieces are normally ready for pick up within 2–4 weeks.

Instructor

Ana Spencer serves as the GAAC’s Assistant Studio Manager at GAAC’s Thoreson Farm Pottery Studio. Raised on the banks of the Great Lakes State, Ana is a teaching artist, now based in Chicago. She does functional work to make everyday activities feel special or even ceremonial. Ana draws inspiration from her love of Northern Michigan and the friendships she made by exploring its beauty. Her highly decorative work is intended to make you smile and feel joy. She achieves this by incorporating bright colors and highly decorative surfaces. With her 15 years of teaching experience, Ana believes art education is essential to a person’s development and has made it her passion to share her art and skills with youth and adults.

Photo Consent
I, parent/guradian #1 (as indicated in this form), give the Glen Arbor Arts Center permission to use my child’s photograph publicly to promote its programming. This includes printed publications, online publications, presentations, websites and social media. I also understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall become payable by reason of use.
General Consent*
I, parent/guradian #1 (as indicated in this form), give permission for my child to engage in all prescribed class activities except as noted. The information provided on this form is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I have indicated any special health conditions, including required medication and activity limitations which should be known to the GAAC staff and medical personnel. I am aware of and accept the risk inherent in the program activity. I give consent in advance for medical treatment at an appropriate medical facility and authorize the transfer of my child to any medical facility that is reasonably accessible in case of illness or injury. I hereby agree and promise that I will not hold the Glen Arbor Arts Center, its staff, or volunteers responsible for any loss, damages, or personal injuries that may occure as a result of participation.
