She has supported the Glen Arbor Arts Center in many ways including greeting visitors at opening receptions and as a front desk volunteer. As a member of the Exhibitions Committee, Julie has helped shape exhibit themes and concepts – including making her readers’ theater play “What Will Be In The Fields Tomorrow?” available to the Arts Center as part of its 2018 exhibit ArgriCULTURE. The show was created during Julie’s tenure at the Michigan State University Museum as Curator of Rural Life and Culture. The Glen Arbor Arts Center version was cast with local/regional farmers, artists, and vintners.
Julie says she enjoys shaping the “next year’s exhibitions, companion programs, and activities that enhance the exhibit’s theme. The exhibits committee produces marvelous brainstorming, explorations, and deep conversations.”
