I feel so fortunate to have landed in Leelanau County over a dozen years ago. Looking to find artful connections, it made perfect sense for me to become a member of the Glen Arbor Arts Center. They are well organized, friendly, and provide support and opportunities to many artists. The surrounding community benefits greatly from the contributions of the Glen Arbor Arts Center by bringing residents closer together and fostering a sense of place.

Sharing knowledge with others is something I am passionate about, and I have enjoyed teaching at the Art Center. The staff is helpful and the students share an affinity for learning that is enhanced by the variety of high-quality offerings. Building relationships, sharing information, and being part of an “Aha” moment is priceless. 

Every year I look forward to participating in the Glen Arbor Arts Center shows, especially the Plein Air Weekend Paint Out. Old and new friends gather to paint, share their vision and artistic creations with a supportive community, and watch in amazement as the staff and volunteers work hard to make the event as successful as possible for all involved.
