Barb Cochran, Artist and Glen Arbor Arts Center Board Member

I was asked to join the Glen Arbor Arts Center board of directors several years ago. As an artist, I loved the idea of making creativity and art available to everyone. The Arts Center does exactly that. We encourage everyone, children, novices, and professional artists, to participate, look at, and experience art. Whether through classes, exhibits, concerts, or talks, we find ways to keep introducing art to the Glen Arbor area.  

I think one of the highlights of the arts center is the gallery. The exhibits are so inspirational and varied and give artists, from all over, the opportunity to share their work. We even successfully created an outdoor gallery to brighten our building walls and encourage visitors.   

The Glen Arbor Arts Center board members, staff and volunteers are talented and committed friends and neighbors of the arts center. It has been a rewarding and fun opportunity to serve on the board. My love and enthusiasm for the arts center continues to grow as we look to the future and try to meet the needs of the area. The Glen Arbor Arts Center is a gem in the woods that has so much to offer. I am very grateful to be a little part of it!
