Ann Cibluski, Ceramist and Member of Glen Arbor Arts Center

Being a member of the Glen Arbor Arts Center provides opportunities to stretch my artistic muscles to make pieces for the interesting show themes. I enjoy meeting the other members, and sharing ideas and techniques at the Thoreson Road Pottery Studio.  

Artists in other fields are inspiring, and Five Mind Reeds are an outstanding example. Their love of their music and instruments was so infectious. And, those instruments are so beautiful–while they were playing at the Glen Lake Library I hatched my plan to make some ceramic vessels in response. I’m please with the result and hope they like them too.  

I love that the Glen Arbor Arts Center sets up wrap around activities that bring a wider group of people into experiencing art and trying to make something–we really need to change the mindset that only artists can create beautiful things.
