In this fun, hands-on class, students ages 6–12 will learn the basics of weaving by setting up their own loom and designing unique patterns. They’ll explore different colors and materials, using their creativity to craft something special.
Students will build fine motor skills and experiment with design choices, all while learning how to work through the weaving process. By the end of the class, each student will walk away with their own handmade woven tapestry. It’s a great opportunity for kids to explore their creativity, challenge themselves with new skills, and create something truly one-of-a-kind!

After studying textiles at the Rhode Island School of Design, Alyssa Brieanne started an embroidery and textile studio. All designs begin with a hand-drawn image or painting that is then translated into embroidery. Each piece is a unique color and material investigation, incorporating textures and embellishments. Her work is whimsical, colorful, and playful. She is inspired by folk art and vintage textiles.
