Women in Art Session 1

Sorry, this class is full.
Join us for a lively morning as Linda Young traces the history of Western Art from the 12th to the 20th century. Her 90 minute talk will highlight the lives and artistic achievements of both widely known and little known women artists, as well as explore their accomplishments and challenges in the context of the time in which they lived. Class size limited to 30.
Instructor Bio: Prior to moving to Glen Arbor, Linda Young was Director of Museum Education at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. She has lectured extensively on American art at various Midwest museums and provided educational sessions for docents both Kalamazoo and most recently, the Dennos Museum in Traverse City. Understanding art in context has been her special interest and this course will highlight both well-known and little known American artists and their work, placed in the social, political, and cultural settings of their time.
