Thoreson Farm Pottery Sampler

This is an explorative introduction to three ways of making with clay. In this fun class tailored for beginners, students will experience throwing a bowl on the wheel, extruding a vase, and building a pitcher from a slab to gain a better understanding and appreciation for clay as a creative medium. Firing may be arranged. Open studio not included.

John Huston will be Potter-in-Residence all summer at Thoreson Farm. John has been a potter for more than 35 years and has lived and worked in Ohio, Indiana, and Japan. He works in his home studio overlooking Sanford Lake in Benzie County. John and his wife Amy Stevens own and operate Glen Lake Artists Gallery in Glen Arbor.
