Sequence and Narrative in Drawing and Painting

Dates: Tuesdays, February 16, 23 & March 2, 9 & 16
Time: 1-2:30 pm
Registration deadline: Monday, February 15 @12pm

From illustrating children’s books to creating a cohesive body of art or creating that single “Master Painting,” the utilization of sequence and narrative structure plays a significant role in how our art is read. Through this course, we will explore and develop strategies and techniques for telling dynamic and engaging stories through drawing and painting. If you have always wanted to turn your doodles into something more or have been painting for years and want to put together a more dynamic and cohesive body of work, this class will help you work through the process of engaging with an audience.

Format: Live Zoom (a Zoom link will be sent a few days before the first class).

Dylan Evans Weiler holds a BFA from Northern Michigan University and earned his Master of Fine Arts from Laguna College of Art and Design. His primary focus during his studies was on painting, but his practice includes a diverse set of media including printmaking, historical photographic process, sound and installation to name just few. He brings together traditional and new media to create a more engaging experience for the audience.
