Panel Discussion: “Creating Community: The Agriculture Connection”

2018 agriCULTURE community panel discussion

“Creating Community: The Agriculture Connection,” a panel discussion with two local food and community activists who link local agriculture with the work of building strong, creative communities, takes place Sunday, October 14, 2 pm at the Glen Arbor Arts Center.

Grow Benzie Director Josh Stoltz and Buckets of Rain Founder Chris Skellenger will talk about the vital role of small farm agriculture in community building. Employing strategies of community gardening, greenhouse growing, beekeeping and weekly farmers markets, these activists join agriculture with social concerns to form the building blocks of strong communities.

Offered as part of the GAAC’s exhibition agriCULTURE: Barnyards and Farmscapes, “Creating Community” is open to the public at no charge.
