Virtual Class: Nature Meets Art

Description
Don’t just sit outside, adventure outside! This class will help you explore, investigate, and observe things in your yard or neighborhood that you’ve never noticed before. We will be drawing and painting our way through wilderness around you. With the birds, trees, and a little help from me, we’ll have you creating art in no time. Let’s go!
Each video session will each have its own emphasis with different projects and activities for students to do offline.
Ages
Recommended for youth ages 8-14.
Format
Four viewable teaching videos (approximately 20-25 mins each). An art kit will be provided with all the materials needed for creating alongside the teaching videos.
Art Kit Contents
Welcome Letter; Magnifying glass; Watercolor Crayons – Set of 8 colors; Semi-moist watercolor Set; Paint brushes; Sketching set with pencils & eraser; Watercolor Paper of various sizes; Hard bound sketchbook; White oil pastel
Hannah Safford studied Drawing and Art Education at Montana State University. Since leaving school she has been teaching drawing and painting classes at art centers in Michigan. She’s an avid birdwatcher, and has been using her illustration skills to record the birds as she sees them in her sketchbooks. Her work was recently published in the children’s book “Hector: A small painted turtle.” www.hmsafford.com
