Monotype and More Printmaking Workshop

Sorry, this class has been cancelled.
Monotype is an immediate way to create painterly prints. A monotype is a unique process in which a combination of painting, and printmaking techniques is used to create a one of a kind, unique piece of art. A monotype is a painting developed on a flat plate with oil or water based inks, paints, crayons and/or pencils. The painting is then transferred to paper or other absorbent surfaces. We will explore printing by hand and with an etching press. The instructor will provide oil and water based inks, plates and paper. Both beginners and advanced students are welcome. Please note there is a $15 materials fee payable to the instructor. This class is held at the GAAC building in Glen Arbor.
Award-winning artist L. C. Lim uses her creative spirit to compose images that reflect the profound beauty of nature and our earth. Lim teaches printmaking at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and works in Philadelphia and northern Michigan. A recipient of many distinguished awards, her work appears in the University of Michigan Ross School, Dow Chemical, Rohm and Haas and Woodmere Museum collections, as well as numerous private collections.
