From Dark to Light with Watercolor

2017 Ken Richmond From Dark to Light with Watercolor still life

Become a better painter by working on the basics in this two-day class. Using watercolor exercises that explore techniques for washes and edges, we will focus on value and tone in painting — good skills that can always stand sharpening. With practice first in the studio each day, we’ll move it out into the landscape to apply what we’ve learned in the field. Intensive, disciplined and always fun, Ken’s classes are as challenging as they are popular. Come prepared to paint…a lot.

Ken Richmond is a Northwestern Michigan College watercolor instructor, Traverse City architect, and regional painter who has been dedicated to drawing and painting for more than twenty years. Turner, and Fairfield Porter; Ontario Plein Air painters The Group of Seven; as well as colorists Milton Avery and his peers. Ken is recognized locally as an arts leader and an innovative teacher.
