Color and Composition of the Landscape
Learn strategies for successful use of color and composition as applied to landscape painting. Day one’s focus is composition. Students will study design strategies and how to best apply them to the landscape. Moving to color on day two, students will learn to premix a harmonious palette and discover that a beautiful palette makes for a beautiful painting. Each day will begin with a lecture and demonstrations, and will be followed by group painting and individual instruction. This course is suitable for all experience levels. “Plein Air at the Farm,” offered Monday through Wednesday, July 11-13, is an excellent prerequisite for this workshop but not required.
